Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection SPF 30 PA++ Review

Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection - SPF 30 PA++ Review - Entry # 3 by Megha

What Nivea claims about Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection:
Details:

Nivea Sun Protection SPF30 is a daily protection lotion providing immediate protection against the harmful UVA/UVB rays. This lotion is ideal for people who want to go out and enjoy sun.

How to UseApply generously before sun exposure and reapply frequently, especially after swimming and towelling to maintain the original protection. Do not stay too long in the sun, even while using sunscreen.

My verdict on Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection - SPF 30 PA++:Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection - SPF 30 PA++ comes in a blue colored elongated bottle. The bottle has an orange flip cap. Tilt and pressurize a little at the middle of the bottle, the lotion will comes out.
The texture is thin and is a perfect body lotion. It moisturizes my skin very well a makes my skin soft. There is a nice smell initially after I apply. Later on the smell goes off.
Staying power is not 24 hours as the brand says. It is hardly for about 4 hours. Then reapplication is needed. Since I do not reapply, its job as a sun protector goes off.

I do not go out in sun usually. But occasionally when I am touring with my family, I use this sun protecting Nivea lotion. But I have observed my skin getting tanned inspite of using Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection - SPF 30 PA++. This could be because I do not reapply.
The package is not travel friendly. The bottle leaks very badly.

Pros of Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection - SPF 30 PA++:- Thin texture of the lotion
- Moisturizes the skin nicely
- Makes the skin soft
- Has a pleasant smell
- Contains SPF 30 PA++, protecting from sun to some extent.

Cons of Nivea Moisturising Immediate Sun Protection - SPF 30 PA++:- Does not stay long. Stays for about 4 hours.
- Reapplication is needed, else skin gets tanned.
- Bottle leaks, not a travel friendly package.

Nivea Glamarous Gloss Pink Sugar Review

Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar Review Entry # 2 Megha

What Nivea claims about Nivea Glamorous Gloss:The innovative formula of Nivea Glamorous Gloss with Ultra Shine Pigments and an exotic scent brings dazzling shine on your lips and provides long lasting moisturisation and care for irresistible, glamorous lips. It also contains SPF – 15 for protection against UVA and UVB rays.
Experience an irresistible shine and nourishing softness.

Price and quantity: Rs.139 for 8.5ml

My verdict about Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar:Nivea Glamorous Gloss is a product that is as same as any ordinary lip gloss. Nivea Glamorous Gloss comes in a small sleek pink tube. The tube has a semi transparent white colored twist cap. The applicator has a slant edge to fit on the lips for application.
The gloss has shimmers in it and is super sticky. It is also thick and shiny.
Though it is pink in color in the swatch, on the lips it is colorless. It can be topped on any lipstick without changing the lipstick color. It can also be used alone for shiny glossy lips. It stays for about 3 hours when used alone. I have not used it on any lipstick so far.
I use this very rarely due to its stickiness. Those who hate sticky lip gloss on their lips can give Nivea Glamorous Gloss a miss.

Pros of Nivea Glamorous Gloss:- Clear colored gloss.
- Can be used with any lipstick without changing its color.
- Pretty package.
- Economically price.
- The gloss has tiny shimmers.
- Gives a shiny look to the lips.

Cons of Nivea Glamorous Gloss - Sticky textured gloss.
- Very thick consistency.
- Color lovers will not like this clear colored gloss.

Rating: 2.5/5

Nivea Cream Review

Nivea Cream Review - Entry #1 Megha

What product claims? The unmatched moisturiser for every skin type, for children as well as for adults and during all seasons. NIVEA Creme provides the skin with all it needs to stay pure, fresh and smooth. NIVEA Creme contains skin-related Eucerit a unique moisturising ingredient.
• Skin compatibility dermatological approved.

Price and quantity: Rs.39 for 30ml
Shelf life: 30months.

Ingredients: Aqua , Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil) , Cera Microcristallina , Glycerin, Lanolin Alcohol , Paraffin , Panthenol , Decyl Oleate , Octyldodecanol , Aluminum Stearate, Citric Acid , Magnesium Sulfate , Magnesium Stearate , Parfum ,Limonene , Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal , Linalool , Citronellol , Benzyl Benzoate, Cinnamyl Alcohol

My verdict:Nivea Cream is a good old product that is used as an all purpose cream.
Packed in a bright blue round flat tin, it is available in different size and quantity.
I am showing the least quantity pack here.
The cream is very rich and oily. The consistency is very thick and takes some time to massage and spread on the skin. The moisturizing power is very good and helps the dry skin a lot.
It stays for long making the skin soft. Oily skin people may not like this since it is thick and makes a rich cream. But I love this product and have been using this from ages.
The tin has a pressing lid. This is a little bothersome. If I am in a hurry, when I try opening the lid I always end up poking my fingers in to cream. This makes the product enter my nails which I do not like.
Apart from the packaging style, I cannot think of any drawback of the product.

Pros of Nivea Cream:- Very rich cream.
- Is a very good moisturizer.
- Makes the skin very soft.
- Stays on skin for very long.
- An all purpose cream.
- Very economical in its price.

Cons of Nivea Cream:- Not easy handling Package.
- Not a travel friendly product. The lid of the tin might open up any time.

Rating: 4/5

Thanks for this lovely review Megha :)

Combined with exfoliating Apricot granules, it gently scrubs away blackheads, dead skin cells and embedded impurities, leaving your skin soft, clear, refreshed and problem-free. Ayurvedic proprietary medicine.
Directions:
Moisten face & neck & apply, avoiding area around eyes. Massage gently with fingertips in a circular motion for a minute. Wash off & pat dry. Use 2-3 times weekly.

Key ingredients: Neem, Apricot.

Inactive ingredients: Methylparaben IP, Propylparaben IP, Phenoxyethanol IP
Price and quantity: Rs.115 for 100g
My experience with Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub:
Package – Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub comes in a standard Himalaya package, a white tube and a green flip cap. The flip caps are usually not strong of the products from Himalaya. I have broken so many caps of Himalaya products just while trying to shut it close.
Texture - Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub has a creamy base. The brand suggests that the product is suitable for oily skin, yet it is made so creamy. There are small granules suspended in this base.  Granules are not very harsh and is made perfect for delicate skin.
Smell – It has a light pleasant smell of neem. It does not irritate.
The scrub on my skin – The creamy scrub helps to massage on the face as long as I wish. Since the granules are soft they do not hurt the skin much. Removes all dirt easily and makes the skin clean and fresh. Perfect product for use when I need that refresh feel after a very tired day.

Pros of Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub:
-          Easy handling package.
-          Very mild granules.
-          Cleans skin from all dirt.
-          Creamy base does not hurt while massaging the skin.
Cons of Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Scrub:
-          Very low quality plastic cap. Breaks while handling the flip cap.
-           Oily skin people may not like the creamy base of the scrub.
Rating: 3.5/5
Thanks a lot for this Entry Chandana :)

Lotus Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation Fresh Ivory 350 Review

Lotus Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation – Fresh Ivory 350 Review Entry #4 Chandana
Price and Quantity: Rs.175 for 25 ml.

My experience with Lotus Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation:
Packaging of Lotus Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation is stylish sleek plastic bottle. The nozzle is very small and tube like. The color of the bottle resembles to that of the foundation colors thus giving the idea that the product in the bottle is a foundation.
Texture is pretty nice. And the coverage is just average for daily usage. If you need heavy coverage, then this product would fail to satisfy you.
Blending is easy.  But you need to be quick, because it tends to dry where ever you have made spots. That’s why I feel a tiny amount of your favorite cold cream mixed with this foundation would work better.
Staying power is satisfactory. The main positive point is it does not melt. Fresh Ivory is the lightest shade available form this range.

What more do you need from a foundation that is available for below Rs.200!!!! In my opinion a good pick and it makes into the list of budget purchases.
Rating: 4/5
Pros of Lotus Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation:
-          Stylish packaging.
-          Perfect thickness for a foundation.
-          Easily blendable.
-          Good staying power.
-          Good coverage.
-          Affordable price.
-          Perfect choice for beginner.

Cons of Lotus Pure Radiance Matte-Glow Daily Foundation:
-          Limited color selection
-          Dries off pretty soon if delayed in blending.
-          Not suitable for heavy coverage.

Thanks chandana ...I want to try this for everyday use :)

Dal fry with a hint of methi Entry By Chandana

Dal-fry with a hint of methi        Entry # 3 - Chandana
I am always in the hunt of side dishes. Indian foods are incomplete without the side dish. Something like idli and dosa needs chutney/sambar, roti and chapati needs ……..hmm..lots of options. This is never ending. Today’s preparation is Dal fry with Methi leaves taking the importance.
Key Ingredients: boiled toor-dal (one cup), 2 tomatoes (chopped), 1 onion (chopped), 2 fists full of methi leaves, 1 green chilly, 7-8 garlic (chopped or smashed).

I have not added all those usual additional items needed for cooking like ghee, jeera, sesame, salt, garam masala powder and such. You will know as you proceed cooking.
Method of preparation:
Step 1: Boil dal in pressure cooker and keep aside.
Step 2: In a kadai, add 2 spoon ghee/cooking oil. Once the oil is heat, add sesame seeds. After these seeds begin to sprout, add jeera seeds, garlic pieces/paste and green chilly.

Step 3: Once you het the smell of garlic being fried, add all of the chopped onion and let it fry well.
Step 4: Now, add chopped tomatoes, methi leaves. You can also opt to add little finely chopped coriander leaves at this stage.  Leave this cooking untouched for about 10 minutes.

Step 5: Now add all of the boiled dal and stir well. Add half cup water and allow boiling for about 3- 4 minutes.
Step 6: Add one spoon of your favorite garam masala powder. Add salt as per your taste.
Serve with hot bread/hot buns/chapthi/parathas. Hot bread/buns means heating the bread/buns over the tava with little ghee smeared on it.

Done ladies. I hope you will try this soon.

Awesome Chandana...its soooo easy :) yum yum
Will try soon.. Thanks loads for this lovely post.

Lakme Sheer Dual Definition Lipcolor and Liner in Berry Review By Aarthi

Lakme Sheer Dual Definition Lipcolor and Liner in Berry Review - By Aarthi Entry # 2

I think one of my very first lipsticks would be this Lakme Sheer Dual Lipcolor and Liner in Berry. Those days I have no idea about the different shades available or the shades that would suit me. I would just randomly buy something or just trust the SA’s words and buy a lipstick or be it any other makeup product. I think many of us were like this !! When I think about those funny days I just giggle within myself. Me and my sister used to exchange our makeup products [once we get bored of it]and I think this lipstick was passed on to me during one such exchange.

There is 1.2g of the lipstick and 0.25g of the liner. The lipstick is sheer and I have swiped it 4-5 times to show you the color.

The lipstick and liner match perfectly and I would call the shade a good plum color. The name of the shade is Berry. When the lipstick/lipcolor is worn all alone it just looks like a gloss and it fades pretty quickly. So I use the liner as a base and then use the lipstick and the color shows well along with the glossy shine on my lips. I didn’t have a berry/plum shade in my lipstick collection so I was super glad to find this lipcolor.

I am not aware of the price as it is not mentioned in the packaging nor google helped me in finding the cost !!

Pros
·         Lipcolor is sheer initially and color can be built with 4-5 swipes.
·         Both liner and lipcolor in one single product.
·         Easy and convenient during travel.
·         Lip pencil works as a good base.
·         Both the lipcolor and lip pencil are twist up retractable ones. I am loving it completely. No worries even if I twist up a lot of product.
·         No fragrance to it.

Cons
·         I would like to know the manufactured or the expiry date as it is not mentioned in the pencil I am not too happy using it.
·         The lipcolor fades away pretty quickly. It hardly stays for 2 hrs when used without any base.

Rating – 3.5/5

Would I Repurchase – Well Yes if it is still available in the market. I could neither find it online nor in the stores now.

Have any of used or seen this product before? Do let me know so that I can get a rough idea of what the manufacturing date could be !! If at all I get the answer I would happily use this product or just throw it away [if it has crossed the expiry date].

Thanks a lot Aarthi for this lovely post :)

Alva ‘Do you speak Alva?’ stacked pigments Review By Aarthi

Alva ‘Do you speak Alva?’ stacked pigments Review  - By Aarthi  Entry # 1

My love for eye makeup started very recently, until when I just stopped with a kajal and eye liner to highlight my eyes. As I started experimenting different looks with different products I always wanted to have a pigments stack [not a large one but a small one at least]. I won this pigment stack in a giveaway :D
Since then I have been trying out so many looks with these eye pigments and now it has become my favourite of all. These pigments are so fine and soft that blending them is very easy peasy. The stack I got has 2 pigments with glitters and 2 without glitters. Both kinds looks great and compliments my look. Each shade has been numbered as 033,034,035,036.

·        033 – Matte grey
·        034 – Matte lavender
·        035 – Shimmering military green
·        036 – Shimmering Copper

Tell me even one color that you don’t like in this stack. Each and every single color is to die for and so unique in my collection. Few of you know how much I am mad about MAC Humid eye shadow. The shade 035 is close to MAC Humid I can say and do I have to tell you how much happy I am??

I feel I still can try out various looks with these pigments as they all work really great with any different combinations. Just 4 different shades does magic and I am enjoying it. This stack showed me how much difference a pigments stack can make than the normal eye shadow palette.

Pros
·         These pigments are highly pigmented.
·         The colors are so vibrant.
·         The pigments are so soft and easy to blend.
·         Two shimmer pigments and two matte pigments make a great combination.
·         Awesome choice of colors in this stack.
·         Various stacks available.

Cons
·         Nothing much. The matte pigments fly off a little bit but that is ok as there is a lot more left over for me to use.

Would I Purchase? – Yes I would love to buy more and more. Now I have this craving to try the NYX and ELF pigment stacks too. Feel like trying different variants from different brands.

Rating – 5/5

Thanks a lot Aarthi for tempting me :P
