Chicken in Yogurt(curd) Gravy Recipe - yum yum yum

It has been a really long time since i have posted any recipe
This is one of the yummiest chicken recipe and easiest to cook too...Actually my hubby wanted me to cook chicken gravy to go with briyani
So i made this Chicken in yogurt gravy....I am sure you will love this :)

So here is the recipe
Serves 3-4
Ingredients :

Chicken pieces - 1/2 kg
(Vegetarians can substitute chicken with paneer,tofu, mushroom,etc)
Onion - 2 medium sized
tomato - 3 medium sized
Ginger - 1 Inch piece
Garlic - 5-6 pods
Bay leaf- 1
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch stick
Cloves - 3 pods
Cardamom - 3 pods
Chilli powder - 1tbsp to 2 tbsp
Coriander Powder - 2Tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
Garam masala powder - 1 tspn
Pepper corns - 2 tspn powdered
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp powdered
saunf - 1 tspn
oil - 2 tbsp
Yogurt/Curd - 1/3 rd of a cup
Water - 1/3 rd cup
Salt
curry leaves
Coriander leaves


How to cook this:

First clean the chicken by rubbing salt and turmeric and wash it in running water.

Now chop up the onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger.

Now heat oil in a kadai/wok and add saunf,Bay leaf, cinnamon stick,cloves and cardamom pods. add curry leaves too..
Now add Onions , Ginger and garlic saute till they are cooked.


Add Tomatoes and little coriander leaves let it cook.



Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder ,also add powdered cumin seeds and powdered pepper corns ..
let it cook till the oil oozes out.




Now Add Yogurt/curd ans let it cook for about 2 mins



Now add the cleaned chicken pieces and add enough salt for the gravy and let it cook for 5 mins



Now add 1/3 rd cup of water and now let it cook till it becomes to a gravy consistency

So garnish with coriander leaves...

So here is the yummy chicken in yogurt gravy
